After the group meeting we decided to narrow down the area of study to 1950s, and I focused on magazines – mainly magazine covers and lipstick advertisements inside. I used them for collages.

Make-up tips

When looking through lipstick commercials from 50s, I found those two images and just loved the relation between them:

I combined them in pairs and then added a magazine cover or an advertisement with a statement related to lipstick or beauty.

Genre scenes

Some of the statements in advertisements just asked for illustrating them, so I did, using magazine covers and commercial images.
