Script for the video essay

I will read out loud the text below while the lines will respond to my voice.

The challenge here was to show the meaning instead of explaining it, so that you can get the sense of my position rather than process it intellectually. So basically, it’s a translation of the written component 3 to the structure of the written component 2, one that would be more direct and straightforward, where the idea just happens and comes through as opposed to being a subject of a distant observation or reflection.

First nothing. No, first the voice. My voice. Then the space.

Empty, dark background

A direction.

Line going right

Time, relationship and change. Rules as constraints. Input as material.

The line starts to move to what I say

Then objects.

Points on the left

A group of lines.

The lines start moving

A flock. Each given features and function. Moving in a direction. Following my voice. Adapting to environment. Between life and non-life. Without a will. Without a goal. But with a momentum.

Them. Existing? Designed? Imagined? Programmed? Virtual? Real? Alive? Paths? Movements? A group? A crowd? A herd? Behaving? Misbehaving?

This. A tool for creating objects. An instrument. A small, artificial reality. A world within a world. Put into motion with a click of button. Modest and simple. But mine. My dominion.

Me. The Grand Architect. The Clock Master. I conduct activities. I use the logic to create conditions.

Simplified input from external complex environment. Concepts of time, space, movement, relation. My context. Is all that I know. I take it apart. Grab the parts. Deliver insights.

Not objective. Stemming from subjective intentions. I am a mystic rather than a rationalist. I leap conclusions that logic cannot reach.

I don’t have ideas. I don’t own them. They come to me. Give me directions. I follow their voice.

It’s symbiosis. Like any other in this ecosystem. Or system. Of living beings. Designed to survive. Given features and functions. Programmed to produce and reproduce. Created to create and recreate.

To create. Means to acknowledge you are created. Means to speak in language of creator. Means act of worship.

This world. Creation. Put into motion with a click of a button. Act of worship. Simplified input from external complex environment. A world within a world.

God. Creator? Creation? A tool for creating objects? Created to create and recreate?

Me. My voice. Existing? Designed? Imagined? Programmed? Virtual? Real? Alive?
